The Beer Can Chicken is the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 of barbecue. They are both incredibly beautiful, they bring a tear to your eye, and they both take roughly the same amount of time from start to finish. Beer Can Chicken however, won’t take a lifetime to master.

Simply open a beer, drink only 1/4 of it (if you can), put it in this beautiful roaster, then slip the chicken over the top. Rub it with your favourite barbecue rub. Cook it indirect at 350F for about an hour. Use an instant read thermometer to ensure doneness, then get ready for all the compliments to roll in.
